It's a Sharp VLZ3U. I first saw it at Best buy and liked it's sleek look and the good looking LCD. When Amazon advertized it for $200 ($350 - $150 in rebates), it was too good to pass and I bought it.
Like all the other entry level camcorders, this one has a very bad low light performance. I'm thinking I should just get my old JVC fixed.
The Sharp has a reasonable (but not outstanding) performance outdoors. Bottomline: The industry is lacking good standards in describing signal to noise ratio under low light.

Update: Looks like I could've done my home work better. The VLZ3U has a gross pixel count of 680k pixels. A Sony TRV33 for example has an effective pixel count of 680k and a gross pixel count of 1 Mega pixel.
But I think I'll still keep the Sharp. It's cute and I can use it outdoors.
