For all of you thinking of buying 1080i DVD players
I just got my HTPC working in 540p (equivalent to 1080i). I still need to deal with the vertical overscan and certainly, the fonts look worse.
Also, for most of the DVDs I played, there was no difference in quality. So you might as well stick with 480p until 1080i/540p content is available.
Those of you searching the web for powerstrip, VHDC300 and 1080i, you need to shoot for 540p (Start from the HDTV derived 540p mode and customize). And yeah, if you figure out how to fix the vertical overscan, drop me a line.
